My career has been a lifelong investigation of shaping and joining metal. Blacksmithing has been the focus of my work for the past 20 years.

Forging and forming metal by hand is an artisanal approach that I support with modern metalwork processes, including machining, brazing, welding, and finishing – all of which can be accomplished in house. My workshop is fully equipped for the transformation of all metals including iron, steel, copper, brass, bronze and aluminium. Every project benefits from the best use of materials, processes, and methods available.

Working on the restoration of antique and historic wrought iron (recent projects at UQAM, Concordia University Montréal, McGill University), and architectural work brings with it the opportunity to further develop my abilities as blacksmith. Over my career, I’ve had the pleasure of making tools and specialty equipment for local artisans, and working with artists and designers on a variety of unique sculptural and functional metalwork objects.

With a view to helping develop the craft as it evolves in the 21st century, I am a mentor for the Society of Inclusive Blacksmiths, and I have taught classes at the Adirondack Folk School and Atelier La Coulée, as well as private classes in my own shop. I am currently completing my ABANA Level 3 Certification in traditional wrought iron techniques.
